About Us

HOW DID THRIFT HOME CARE BEGIN?

We opened in 1990 in McComb, MS, as an extension of Thrift Drugs. From the first day, the owners, Ed and Virginia Griffin, set a goal for their company to provide quality home health products in a professional manner that exemplified the golden rule—to always treat our customers as we ourselves would wish to be treated. Though the company has always been heavily involved in community events (Relay for Life, Kidney Foundation walk, etc.) and advertised consistently through various media, word of mouth from satisfied customers has been a primary source of steady growth. Because of increasing referrals in adjoining Lincoln County, a second store was opened in Brookhaven, MS, in 1993. Thrift Home Care demonstrated its “ahead-of-the-curve” thinking and its desire to be the best it could be when it voluntarily underwent accreditation survey in 1998 and received full accreditation from the highly-regarded Joint Commission (JCAHO).
